Premium guideline: Penalties for underestimation of rateable remuneration

When an employer needs to change their estimated rate remuneration, and the penalties for not doing so.

What it contains

If you have provided a certified statement of rateable remuneration, and your estimates change, you need to tell WorkSafe within 28 days. If you don't do this, you will face penalties based on:

  • whether the employer took reasonable care to provide an accurate statement
  • whether the incorrect statement was made accidentally or deliberately
  • whether the employer provided more information during the review, or tried to hide information
