Guidelines for claims for compensation claims following the death of a worker

What it contains

WorkSafe aims to make decisions around entitlement to compensation as quickly as possible, for the benefit of the claimant and anyone else involved. To help them, the following principles apply:

• Claimants are not expected to have legal representation.
• Claimants, employers and their advisers should cooperate and share information.
• To get a decision more quickly, claimants should provide certain documents (these will be different depending on the cause of death).
