WorkSafe investigates fatal explosion

WorkSafe is investigating after a worker died as a result of an explosion and fire at a chemical factory in Derrimut yesterday.

It is understood the 44-year-old man was working with a Class 3 Dangerous Good when the incident occurred.

The death is the 46th confirmed workplace fatality for 2023. There were 62 work-related deaths at the same time last year.
