Licences and their fees
Fees for licences, permits, notifications and registrations are determined by their corresponding regulations.
In the same licence type, there may be a different fee to apply for a new licence, amend or renew an existing licence, or order a replacement licence or card.
Some licence fees are based on fee units.
Fees shown for each licence type are valid for the 2024–25 financial year.
Fees are reviewed annually.
Replacement plastic card licences
From 19 September 2022, replacement cards for licences available online are free of charge.

Scheduled carcinogens
New or renew: 7.9 fee units = $129.05 per hour (Max: 86.9 fee units = $1,419.10 over 11 hours)

When you receive a licence, you must comply with any terms and conditions imposed on it. WorkSafe may suspend or cancel a licence if the activities relating to it are not being carried out safely and competently.
Licences are required by law
Licences are issued by WorkSafe under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and the Dangerous Goods Act 1985 and their subordinate regulations.
