Background

WorkSafe entered contracts commencing 15 June 2024 with Hearing Services Practices following a public tender process.

From 2025, applications to be a WorkSafe Contracted Hearing Services Provider are open twice per calendar year.

Contracted applications cannot be accepted outside of the application period.

Contracted application period

Contracted applications will be open from 10 am Wednesday 19 March 2025 until 4 pm Wednesday 9 April 2025 EADT.

No exceptions will be made for early or late applications.

Steps to become a contracted hearing services provider

1: Register as a hearing services provider

Hearing service providers may provide services from either a Contracted practice or Non-contracted hearing services practice. To become a Contracted hearing provider, you must first register as a Hearing Service Provider with WorkSafe.

WorkSafe expects Hearing Services Practices and Providers applying to be a Contracted Hearing Services Practice to ensure that all their Hearing Service providers:

  • Are registered hearing service providers with WorkSafe.
  • Meet the qualifications, experience, and professional body membership criteria published on our website.
  • Comply with Division 5 of Part 13 of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 (‘Prohibited conduct relating to touting for claims’).

If a Hearing Service provider is not registered with WorkSafe, please complete an application to provide hearing services with WorkSafe Victoria either before or at the time of your application to be a contracted hearing provider.

2: Apply to be a contracted hearing services provider

Contracted practices have, through an application process, have entered a contract with WorkSafe to provide hearing services in accordance with the contract terms and conditions.

Applications to become a contracted hearing provider are only open for certain periods of the year. Contracted applications cannot be accepted outside of the open application period.

Selection criteria

Applicants must meet all the mandatory requirements before being assessment against the key evaluation criteria.

Fee schedules

You can only bill under the contracted hearing services fee schedule if you have had a successful application to be a contracted hearing provider.

Fees for contracted providers are commercial in confidence.

If you are a registered hearing service provider with WorkSafe and are not a contracted hearing service provider, you can bill under hearing services for non-contracted providers fee schedule

  • All providers are registered as a hearing service provider with WorkSafe Victoria OR complete an application to provide hearing services with WorkSafe Victoria.
  • Read and review Part A - Conditions of application document.
  • Complete Part B - Contracted provider application Form.
  • Complete Part C - Services Agreement - Hearing Services
  • Provide calibration certification of audiometric testing equipment for each site.
  • Provide ambient noise level certification for all consulting and test rooms for each site.
